Jefferson County’s deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, Oct. 11.
Allison Nathan Getz, Jefferson County voter registrar, announced in a release that anyone who wishes to vote in the upcoming presidential election Nov. 8 must register or correct their name and address before that date.
Local residents have the option of registering in person at either the Jefferson County Courthouse on 1149 Pearl St. in downtown Beaumont, the Mid-County Tax Office at 4605 Jerry Ware Drive in Nederland, or the Jefferson County Sub-Courthouse at 525
Lakeshore Drive in Port Arthur.
Deputy voter registrars are also working to register more voters in the community, according to the statement.
Voters can call 409-835-VOTE (8683) to check their status or make name and address changes. New and revised applications must be post-
marked on or before Oct 11.
The Beaumont office is offering extended hours from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Oct. 11.
