Beaumont Police responded to a “major crash” in the 5700 block of MLK Parkway southbound on Sunday, Oct. 2, about 1 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that two vehicles were on fire, a white Ford F350 and a black Chrysler 300.

BPD officers used fire extinguishers in their patrol units until Beaumont Fire-Rescue arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames, according to a release.

Three fatalities resulted from the accident. Two were riding in the Chrysler and one was in the truck. Another person was transported to a Houston hospital in serious condition.

BPD PIO Officer Carol Riley identified two occupants killed in the black Chrysler 300 as Beaumont residents Joshawa Keith Beck, 25, and his mother, 44-year-old Bethany Ann Beck.
