The second suspect allegedly involved in a string of recent convenience store robberies has been taken into custody.

Detectives brought Shameca Pugh, a 37-year-old Beaumont woman, in for questioning Wednesday, Oct. 19.

“We had sent out pictures and video asking people to call in with her name,” explained Beaumont Police PIO Carol Riley. “She was captured on video with her cellphone recording the robberies as they were happening.

“Detectives were able to get this information to get two aggravated robbery warrants.”

Riley said Pugh could be linked to other robberies but has not been charged with any others at this time.

The robberies took place earlier last week.
