One suspect is now in custody after a burglary at The Smoke Shop on MLK Parkway Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9:44 p.m., Beaumont Police said.

Beaumont Police officers responded to The Smoke Shop, located in the 3300 block of South MLK Parkway, in reference to an alarm. Officers discovered that the business had

Video surveillance showed two male suspects fleeing the area in a silver Dodge Ram truck after the robbery, Beaumont Police spokesperson Officer Haley Morrow said in a statement.

One of the responding patrol officers remembered a similar incident and determined the identity of the suspect. Beaumont Police’s investigation led to the arrest of Robin Claridy, a 51-year-old Beaumont man.

A second suspect was interviewed by detectives and an additional arrest is forthcoming, police report. Detectives believe this will clear up several additional open burglary cases, Morrow said.
