A 17-year-old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting on Gulfway Drive, according to Port Arthur Police.
Officers responded to a call about a shooting victim at Christus St. Mary’s Hospital emergency room at 3600 Gates Boulevard Friday, Nov. 25 at 1:35 a.m., Port Arthur Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Shawn Perron said in a news release.
A 17-year-old had been shot in his left hand. He told officers he was shot by someone in a vehicle driving by while he was walking in the 5200 block of Gulfway Drive.
The victim said he ran to Lakeview Palms Apartments to call for help after the drive-by shooting, according to the news release.
His injuries were not life-threatening, and Port Arthur Police officers were able to find the crime scene and investigate, Perron said. Port Arthur Police’s Crime Scene Unit took photographs and collected evidence at the scene.
No arrests have been made yet, and Port Arthur Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is still investigating this incident, Perron said.
