Vidor man run over after morning rush accident on Eastex Freeway

After two cars collided on Eastex Freeway during the Wednesday morning commute, one of the drivers got out of his car and was struck and killed by another car passing by, Beaumont Police said.

Officers responded to the scene in the 2700 block of northbound Eastex Freeway Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 7:56 a.m., Beaumont Police spokesperson Haley Morrow said in a news release.

Officers investigating determined the original crash between the two vehicles was minor, before the passing car struck one of the drivers.

Beaumont Police identified the driver who was killed as Shawn Fronzaglio, 44, of Vidor.

No charges have been filed at the time of publication.
