Calder Woods’ 10th annual Tour of Lights was held Dec. 8.

“This festive start to the holiday season has become a favorite in the Beaumont community. Featuring holiday-themed refreshments, family-friendly activities and thousands of Christmas lights, this free holiday event invites all ages to celebrate the Christmas season together,” Calder Woods said in a news release. “Residents throughout the community used their talents to help decorate for the event.”

The tour featured Jim and Nancy Bond’s decorated townhome as well as several other festive suites on both the A and B hall inside the Calder Woods complex from couples like Greg and Lois Cottington and others, including Mack Fulbright, Frank Morgan, Barbara White, Betty Jacob, Johnny James, Peggy Jones, Louise Troy and Maria Mazzara.

Free photos with Santa Claus (Lloyd Beaman) were offered in the auditorium, and the staff assisted the residents in sending their photos with Santa to their families.

Former Beaumont mayor and Calder Woods resident Evelyn Lord turned 90 years old Dec. 8, the same day as the Tour of Lights, and she shared with visitors her collection of Santas from around the world.

Lord was the first woman to be elected as Beaumont’s mayor in 1990.
