One injured in shooting at Port Arthur gas station

A man was shot at a gas station in Port Arthur Monday night, police said.

Port Arthur Police received a call about a gunshot victim at 7:14 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3 at Christus St. Mary’s Hospital, according to a news release. The man had been shot in the leg.

The victim said the shooting took place at the Citgo gas station, located in the 5200 block of Gulfway Drive.

Port Arthur Police Officers went to the gas station and established a crime scene.

During the investigation, officers found out the victim and suspect were involved in an argument which led to a fight. During the fight, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired, hitting the victim in the leg.

The victim was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
