A car drove through the front of a shopping center on Saturday, Beaumont firefighters said.

The crash happened just after 6:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18 in the 2800 block of Eastex Freeway’s service road, Beaumont-Fire Rescue Captain Jimmy Blanchard said in a news release.

The business, Merry Maids, was closed when the accident happened, and no employees were inside, he said.

A driver and a passenger were inside the car when they drove into the building, but neither one were hurt.

Beaumont Police, Beaumont Fire-Rescue, and Beaumont city building codes inspected the building and determined that the building was still structurally sound.

Merry Maids is scheduled to reopen on Monday after a few repairs.
