The Harbor Foundation hosted its eighth annual Butterfly Release on Saturday, April 29, at Ford Park in Beaumont.

Attendees were able to order butterflies in memory of loved ones.

Families crowded outside Ford Park for food, live music, rides and kid-friendly activities despite the winds gusting up to 47 mph.

About 2,000 butterflies were available to be released at 1 p.m., but most of the butterflies clung to the grass and clover blossoms, unable to gain lift in the high winds.
