A Jefferson County grand jury indicted Aaron Charles Hill, 44, of Beaumont for causing serious bodily injury to his girlfriend.

He is accused of setting her on fire with rubbing alcohol.

His girlfriend told police July 17 that Hill assaulted her regularly while she was living with him and locked her in the bedroom when he left the house, where she was unable to leave or make phone calls.

The bedroom windows were boarded from the outside, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Hill allegedly poured rubbing alcohol on his girlfriend and used a lighter to set her on fire on June 24, “caus[ing] significant burns on the left side of her body,” the affidavit stated.

His girlfriend told officers that Hill said, “Something made him do it because she was evil,” and that she “had a snake on her” that he had to burn off.

According to the police officer’s report, the girlfriend “burst into tears as if she were reliving the incident.”

Hill allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend’s children if she contacted police.
