The Hope and Healing Grief Support Group series will begin Monday, Sept. 11, and again on Monday, Oct. 30, at the Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeast Texas, 7980 Anchor Drive, Bldg 500, Port Arthur.
These meetings are open to the public at no cost.
Each series meets weekly for eight weeks on Monday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Grief support groups offer companionship and understanding from others who have experienced a similar loss, and are experiencing the similar challenges that living with
grief brings, event organizers said.
“In a culture that often avoids talking about loss, support groups give you the opportunity to share your story openly and guilt-free,” the Samaritan Counseling Center of Southeast Texas said in a news release. “You also have the opportunity to hear the stories of others and talk about coping day-to-day, as well as on the most difficult days of the grief journey.”
Call (409) 727-6400, ext. 219, or email larnekal@sccset.org to find out how you can help support these programs, or if you have any questions about the event or how to register.
