A 12-year-old boy died Wednesday evening while he and a friend were playing with a hunting rifle, Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis said in a news release.

The boy was identified as Trintin Glenn, 12, of Kountze.

Hardin County Sheriff deputies arrived on scene shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8 and found the boy’s body on the porch of a mobile home in the 2600 block of FM 418, just east of Kountze, Davis said.

Investigators believe that the rifle accidentally discharged while the boys were playing with it.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the death. Investigators ordered an autopsy and Glenn’s body has been sent to the Jefferson County Morgue for examination.
