A man was arrested after shooting someone at a Beaumont apartment complex Tuesday morning.
Beaumont Police officers responded to a call about a disturbance about 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14 in the 2500 block of Primrose Street in Beaumont’s North End, Beaumont Police spokesperson Officer Haley Morrow said in a news release.
When the first officer arrived on scene, eyewitnesses told him someone had just been shot and the suspect was behind the apartment building.
The officer found the suspect, who ran away. The suspect threw a handgun on top of a business at 3310 Concord Drive while fleeing the scene.
Beaumont Police arrested the suspect, and several witnesses were taken to the Beaumont Police Station to talk to detectives.
The suspect, Keshawn Thomas, 28, of Beaumont, was taken to the Beaumont Police Station to talk to detectives. Then he was taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where he was booked in and charged with aggravated assault.
The victim in the shooting was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.
