A woman called the Liberty Police Department several times on Sunday asking to turn herself in, police said.
After police dispatchers told the woman several times that she was not wanted, an officer met with her in the parking lot of a business located in the 2100 block of Highway 146 Bypass in Liberty, Liberty Police said in a news release.
Kelli Lunceford, 25, approached the officer and told him she wanted to go to jail. The officer told the woman she had not committed a crime, and he could not arrest her for no reason.
Then Lunceford took four small plastic bags out of her armband, Liberty Police said. One bag contained a white crystalline substance. Another larger bag contained straws and partially burned marijuana cigarettes.
The officer arrested Lunceford for suspected drug possession and the driver of the vehicle on an outstanding warrant.
Both suspects were taken to the Liberty County Jail.
The white crystalline substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. The officer said the bag weighed 1.2 grams, including packaging.
