Jefferson County was awarded a donated Kubota SSV75 Skid Steer in a special ceremony Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Jefferson County Commissioner Eddie Arnold received the donation on the county’s behalf, along with Jefferson County Precinct No. 1 staff members and a representative from local Kubota dealer, Beaumont Tractor, at Jefferson County Precinct No. 1 Road and Bridge Service Center at 20205 W. Highway 90 in China.

Jefferson County got one of 18 skid steer units that Kubota donated as part of its $1 million donation of funds and equipment to the Hurricane Harvey relief effort. This donation will help provide the people of Jefferson County and surrounding areas with the equipment and tools needed to clear debris and expand efforts to rebuild businesses, homes and entire communities that were devastated by Hurricane Harvey, county officials said.

The event in Jefferson County came right on the heels of the announcement of three Kubota skid steer units being donated to the cities of Fulton and Rockport and Aransas County in late November.
