Man wanted after Chambers County deputies interrupt robbery at Crawdad’s gas station near Baytown

Detectives with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office interrupted two men trying to rob Crawdad’s gas station outside Baytown just after midnight Wednesday.

Detectives saw the two suspects in their vehicle wearing masks at 12:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 20 at Crawdad’s gas station, the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release,. Crawdad’s is located at 8110 FM 565 in Cove, Texas.

The robbery suspects drove away, leading Detectives Brad Moon and Shane Arredondo on a chase, Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said in the news release.

After driving about a mile, both men got out of their car and ran away on foot. The detectives caught one of the suspects and took him into custody. They also found a weapon at the scene.

Gage Blalock, 27, of Baytown, is currently being held in the Chambers County Jail on a charge of attempted robbery with a $20,000 bond.
