The shooting happened about 4:47 p.m. Sunday, Jan., 7 in room 157 at the Port Arthur Inn in the 3800 block of Gulfway Drive, City of Port Arthur spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter said in news release Jan. 8.

Port Arthur Police officers responding to the scene found John Sinegal, 45, inside the hotel room with a single gunshot wound to his chest.
