Here’s what my Saturday nights look like as a journalist.
This is from one night a few weeks ago when both of the freelance stringers went out to other calls and I got video of a police chase.
Walking up with a camera while the scene is still happening is quite an experience. I’ve stood there while the suspect is being handcuffed and loaded in to the back of the police car. It’s definitely one of those moments where I realize that TV is way different than print.
And I’ve started sleeping with my police scanner at home some nights, because you just never know what might happen next.
